One or two buses leave each hour, starting at 7:38 a.m. Monday to Saturday and 8:53 a.m. Sunday. The last bus leaves at 6:24 p.m.
From there, you can ascend to Civita only on foot across the Civita bridge, which takes about 10 minutes. The long bridge is steep and it gets steeper as it rises. This is a challenging climb for anyone not in particularly good shape.
Civita di Bagnoregio is a rising tourist star, which means there will be crowds, especially if you visit in the peak tourist season – July, August.
If you are visiting in summer, be sure to arrive early (between 8am and 9am) or late (after 7pm) if you want to beat the crowds and the extreme summer heat.
Walking across that bridge at midday is not a good idea unless you like the sound of sun stroke.
Remember to bring a hat and a bottle of water. And wear comfortable shoes. You will do a lot of walking!
